Privacy Notice

What AskDada processes, why it is needed, who helps provide the service, and how to manage your information.

Effective / last updated: 12 September 2026 · Version 2026-09-12

Who is responsible

Compilesquad Technologies Private Limited operates AskDada and is responsible for the personal information described here. Business location: Bangalore, India. Privacy and grievance contact: Arjit Srivastava, askdada@compilesquad.com. This notice is specific to AskDada; third-party websites and services have their own notices.

Information we process

  • Account: name, email, password authentication records, verification/recovery information, and sign-in identifiers. If you choose Google sign-in, we receive basic profile information and the identity information needed to authenticate you.
  • Interview context: résumé and job-description text you save, profile details, confirmed facts, questions, candidate answers, notes, transcripts, AI suggestions, and session timestamps.
  • Audio and permissions: microphone or selected meeting/tab audio you choose to share, plus records of your audio-consent choice and withdrawal.
  • Payments and usage: plan, amounts, currency, payment references/status, credit grants, assistance time, and accounting records. Razorpay handles payment credentials; do not send card numbers or OTPs to us.
  • Service and support: technical connection information such as IP address and request/device information, diagnostic events, security/audit records, and information you provide in support requests.
Provide only what is necessary. Do not upload passwords, identity documents, payment credentials, medical records, or confidential employer/customer material without authorization.

Why we use it

We use information to create and secure accounts, verify sign-in, provide contextual AI assistance and transcription, save and retrieve session history, meter prepaid time, verify payments, communicate about the service, resolve support and privacy requests, prevent abuse, and meet legal obligations. Where applicable, the legal grounds are performance of the service contract, consent for optional audio processing, legal obligations, and legitimate interests in security and service administration subject to your rights. We do not treat agreement to the terms as consent to unrelated marketing.

Audio, documents, and session history

Searchable PDF text is extracted on your device; the text you review and save is sent to the service. The current browser workflow does not upload the original PDF or screen images as interview context. Choosing screen/tab sharing can nevertheless give the browser or operating system permission to access the selected source: select only what you intend to share. Audio is transmitted to our processing provider for transcription. Compilesquad does not persist raw audio as an audio recording; temporary buffers may exist in device and server memory during processing or recovery. Provider retention is separate. Transcripts, generated suggestions, saved document text, and session context are stored in your account. A new session has separate conversational context but does not delete earlier history.

Consent and other people

Before sharing another person's voice or data, tell them that AskDada and its providers will process audio into text and AI assistance, explain that transcripts can be saved, and obtain any legally required consent. Your audio checkbox is a record of your own confirmation, not proof of their consent. You can use the available stop, pause, end, or withdraw-consent controls to stop future capture/processing. Stopping capture does not recall data already transmitted or delete existing transcripts; use deletion controls or contact us for a data request. Declining audio means audio features cannot operate, but you can use available text-based preparation.

Service providers and international processing

ProviderPurpose and information
OpenAIAI suggestions and speech transcription; relevant saved context, questions, session text, audio, and a pseudonymous safety identifier.
HostingerApplication hosting and infrastructure; service data stored or transmitted through that infrastructure.
MicrosoftTransactional verification/recovery and support email; recipient email and message content needed for delivery and handling.
GoogleOptional Google account authentication; sign-in and basic profile information.
RazorpayPayment processing; customer email, order/plan, amount, and transaction information.
Providers may process data outside your country, including in the United States and other locations where they operate. Do not assume India-only or local-device-only processing. Applicable transfer safeguards must be used where required; contact us before submitting data subject to special location or contractual restrictions. We may also disclose information when lawfully required, to protect rights and security, to professional advisers under confidentiality, or as part of a business transfer subject to applicable law and notice. We do not publish customer interview content as a public feed.

AI training and provider retention

AskDada uses OpenAI's API. OpenAI states that API data is not used to train its models by default unless the customer opts in. Our answer requests disable stored responses, but that setting does not eliminate all provider logs or retention. Abuse-monitoring and other retention can depend on the endpoint, provider configuration, and legal requirements; this service does not promise zero retention. See OpenAI's API data controls. Do not infer from these statements that content cannot be accessed for authorized support, security, or legal purposes.

Storage, security, and retention

HTTPS protects connections to AskDada. Sensitive interview content and email addresses are encrypted at rest in the application database. Access is restricted by account permissions; authorized administrators can access content for support and operation, and transcript access and relevant administrative actions are logged. These controls are not a guarantee against every incident. Saved context and interview history remain until you delete them or your account, subject to lawful retention. Active-database deletion does not instantly erase restricted recovery backups, which persist until their retention cycle expires. Payment, usage, security, and audit records can be retained where necessary for accounting, disputes, fraud prevention, or legal obligations. We assess such retention according to purpose and applicable law; contact us for information about a specific record. Do not use AskDada as your only archive.

Your choices and rights

You can review saved material, use available session deletion and data-export controls, and request account deletion through Account & Data. Correct saved context before starting new sessions; historical snapshots may need separate correction or deletion. You can also email the privacy contact to request access, correction, deletion, a copy, withdrawal of consent, or other rights available under your local law, including objection or restriction where applicable. We may reasonably verify identity and protect other people's information. We will explain any lawful reason we cannot fulfil a request and respond within applicable legal deadlines. You can complain to a competent data-protection authority or consumer forum. Account deletion does not automatically submit a refund request; contact support about unused paid time first if needed.

Cookies, children, and updates

The public information pages do not add advertising or analytics cookies. The application uses essential authentication/security cookies and local preferences; see the Cookie Notice. AskDada is for adults aged 18 and over. If you believe a child has provided information, contact us so we can investigate and take appropriate action. We may update this notice as practices change, publish a new date, and provide additional notice or seek consent when required. Privacy questions: askdada@compilesquad.com.
